HYATT PLACE HOTEL

LOCATION: Lake Lorraine | Sioux Falls, SD

SERVICES: Architecture, Interior Design

This is the first Hyatt Place Hotel constructed within the State of South Dakota. The all-new Hyatt Place Sioux Falls - South sits at the far north shore of the bustling Lake Lorraine development in Sioux Falls, a short drive from either downtown or primary retail corridor, and absolutely ideal for luxury business travel. Geared toward such clientele, the guest room designs focused on sleek composition with upgraded amenities such as private balconies. The spacious first floor common area features a contemporary bar and sun room facing the lake, with associated outdoor seating.

Unique to the hotel is the use of a podium structure of the basement walk-out level, which included guest room suites, resulting in variations in guest room types and more design work. Care was taken to maintain privacy of guest rooms by providing semi-private walkout patios, without sacrificing important views to the surrounding landscape. Another feature, and common to Hyatt Hotels, is the use of the glass butterfly porte cochere, separated from the hotel structure. This impressively engineered canopy was the first of its kind in Sioux Falls, and provides identity to the hotel as a whole.
